Ambulance care is expensive to provide. Advanced Life Support costs from $1500 to $3000 per use. LifeMed picks up the cost of what your insurance does not pay.
Insurance does not always cover the total fee for ambulance service. Medicare and private insurance frequently leave various parts of the bill unpaid. LifeMed covers any costs associated with medically necessary emergency ambulance service not covered by your insurance.
The total cost of operating ambulance service on behalf of members is far greater than the annual membership fee. Billing the insurance of those who require ambulance service keeps your annual membership fee affordable.
LifeMed is a membership program, not an insurance policy. Part of the LifeMed membership application includes the provision for LifeMed to bill your insurance whenever you or a family member use the ambulance.
Enrollment is open year round and the annual memberships extends through the next June 30th.

Western Lane Ambulance District’s ~ annual LifeMed Membership Program for myself and my household* members for the LifeMed fiscal year from July 1st through June 30th. The membership fee of $65.00 provides only “medically necessary*” pre-hospital care and ground transportation within the LifeMed Reciprocal Agencies areas.
